H2: Harkness Herriott Duo
Masonic Temple, July 14th, 8:15pm Buy Tickets Here

Mike and Sean met in Japan while touring a show…

Six weeks of traveling together and absorbing the country and the culture, they took advantage of many opportunities to explore music outside of the show they were playing.

A friendship grew and a musical bond developed.

This collection of music represents a beginning to this exploration of original ideas, combining Sean’s guitar and Mike’s flugelhorn. Each bringing their own material to the studio, they chose to invite a few friends to join their duo on 5 of the tracks.

Recording in New York City and Toronto, Mike and Sean made use of the influences of these two wonderful cities to bring this music to light.

Sean Harkness

Sean is a first-call guitarist who compliments an exhaustive client list of artists, instrumentalists, Broadway productions, and corporations nationally and internationally. He is the go-to guitarist for duets and ensemble work with singers from Broadway and television such as Alison Fraser, Susan Egan and Carole Demas. Recently Sean has been a regular substitute for the guitar chair in Disney’s The Lion King on Broadway. He has also assumed the role of in-house Musical Director for KMA Studios in the Brill Building in Times Square.

Sean Harkness speaks the language of guitars from the inside out – as a solo Artist on Windham Hill Records (BMG), with 22 years of experience as a sideman and six years as a Luthier’s assistant. He’s recorded on numerous commercial releases with all kinds of guitars and basses, toured both nationally and internationally, and benefitted from artist endorsements provided by Taylor Guitars, Walden Guitars, B-band pickup systems, and Stylus Picks. He currently resides in NYC while frequently travelling for recording dates and performances of all kinds.
