Shawn was born, raised & currently resides in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Over the last 14 years he has taken the stage with bands including Apt 401, Sweet Tooth, Mojo, The Shawn Beresford Trio & most recently, Shawn Beresford & The Soulution. With a voice that has been compared to Dennis Edwards of the Temptations & Ray Charles, Shawn delivers soulful renditions of R&B, Soul & Motown classics, alongside his original material. These days, Beresford is also spending some time fronting one of Newfoundland’s most established and respected bands; Billy & The Bruisers. The Soulution is a five piece Soul / R&B band made up of Bruce Cooper, Gary Johnston, Ian Taylor, Natasha Hartery, and Shawn. Delivering soulful renditions of classics from artists such as Al Green, Stevie Wonder & Billy Preston, along with a substantial offering of Shawn’s original material.
