NOTE: Due to the high volume of submissions, we are unable to return any submitted materials. Please see ‘Submissions Guidelines’ below for complete submission requirements. All artists wishing to make a submission must complete the ‘WIJBF Performance Application Form’ and include it with the submission.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
All submissions should include the following:
- A playable CD/CDR (Electronic downloads or samples from any URL will not be accepted. CD jewel cases must also be clearly lebeled on the spine.
- A brief synopsis of your music and background, including press clippings (if applicable).
- A list of all group members’ names and instruments.
- A stage plot with noted technical requirements.
- Any applicable GST number(s).
- Complete contact details.
- WIJBF Performance Application.
- Sample Stage Plot.
- Sample Tech Rider.
CANADIAN MUSICIANS (OUTSIDE NL)
Deadline for Submissions: Monday October 31, 2011
Canadian musicians (outside Newfoundland & Labrador) should submit their materials (CD/CDR, press kit and cover letter) by October 31, 2011 in order to ensure that there is ample time to assess materials.
NOTE: Due to the high cost of travel in Canada, it is recommended that Canadian musicians seek financial assistance through government/agency funding programs. Please also note that the deadline for Music Touring Grant(s) from the Canada Council for the Arts is December 01, 2011. Click here for more information.
INTERNATIONAL MUSICIANS (OUTSIDE CANADA)
Deadline for Submissions: Monday October 31, 2011
International applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. However, many programming decisions take place in mid November, so it is recommended that kits (including CD/CDR, bio, press samples, etc.) be sent to our office ASAP.
NEWFOUNDLAND & LABRADOR MUSICIANS
Deadline for Submissions: Monday 5 March, 2012
Please forward submission materials to the contact information above. Drop offs are also welcome between 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday.
NOTE: Musicians from outside of the St. John’s area who are seeking travel and/or accommodations funding support can contact the Newfoundland & Labrador Arts Council, Labrador Cultural Outreach, orMusicNL to inquire about financial assistance available through their granting programs.
